Hello, I am berty..

My photography journey started in the summer of 2011 when I found out about Instagram, while I was living in the Czech Republic for the summer. It blew my mind. The idea of sharing your story in such a simple way really changed the way I look at social media. now, i feel like everything became subjects worth capturing and sharing. I started taking photography more seriously. I started with my Canon Point-n-Shoot and my iPhone 3Gs became a staple for the way i wanted my life to be told... this was about the time when I started to fall in love with photography.

A year later, summer of 2012, I acquired my first DSLR camera. It was a Canon t4i. I read the camera manual word by word from cover to cover. i learned about everything that camera could do... I thought it was the GREATEST photo taking machine, EVER.

I then started exploring and adventuring around the northwest with my t4i to only find myself fall in love even more with photography. I began taking portraits of my friends that would join me on my early morning hikes and road trips. Then sure enough, I was hooked. Photography makes me a better observer. It makes me pay close attention to the things I used to overlook.

fast forward a few years later, I married the love of my life, Emily,  on May 30th, 2016 and it was the BEST day of my life. back in late August of 2015, I went to Peruon top of Machu Picchu mountain was where I asked Emily to marry me (learn more about our story here, the video is also attached below). This was quite the trip and we're hoping to go back to South America sometime soon.

I love Emily with every fiber of my being. She is everything to me. We started our travel blog together (themandagies.com) back in mid-2016. Emily is pretty much running the whole show. I'm super proud of her. you should Subscribe here to keep up with our adventures, and learn tips and tricks to become a better traveler.

I love to travel. I am spontaneous, adventurous, and very passionate in what I do. I pour my heart and soul into the work that I create. Especially as a wedding photographer, my goal is create photographs that my couple would look back 50 years from now and still remember the exact moment from their BIG day. And as a commercial, lifestyle, and travel photographer, my goal is create beautiful and captivating content that is honest and best describes my client's true meaning of their brand, along with its founding story.

wow, that was a lot of information.. anyway, Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Shoot me an email, let's grab coffee and chat. Now it's my turn listen to YOUR story.

Let's make something AMAZING together.

Yours truly,

Do you ONLY shoot weddings?

As a matter of fact no. I love doing doing commercial shoots, as well. Both give me a different sense of joy.

Do you travel for weddings and commercial shoots?

All the time.

How many weddings have you photographed?

I've been doing weddings for almost 2 years now, and I have shot a over 50 weddings.

Can we see more of your wedding work?

Absolutely. Send me an email and I will send you more examples.

What is your wedding pricing and how can we get started?

The best way is to fill out the connect info and I'll send you every info you need to know to book me. We'll get coffee (or desserts) and we'll find out if we're a good team.

Do you have a second shooter?

I do most of weddings on my own, but yes there are options to add a second shooter for your wedding.

What is required to book you?

A signed contract and a 40% (of total costs) deposit.

How many photos do you deliver?

For weddings, around 400-600. For commercial shoots, depends on the projects.

How long is your turnaround time for weddings?

From start to finish, 3-4 weeks. I love the editing portion and post processing part!

How often do you do commercial shoots?

All the time. I usually do my commercial shoots on weekdays and save my weekends for weddings. But I've done a month long commercial shoots before, so it truly depends on the projects and my availability.

Is it hard to do weddings/commercials/travel blogging all in one?

Yes. It's definitely challenging. But I love every minute of it and the challenge it brings. It's super fun for me. When it comes to travel blogging, My wife is the one mostly doing the writing and I do the photos over at TheMandagies.com
